About

VeggieNation is an invitation to all critics of meat consumption. If you want to participate, you can be naturalised without any problems and receive a stylish Veggie Picture ID.

Descent, gender or age are unimportant. VeggieNation is transnational, nonpartisan and open to all kinds of "vegetarian" lifestyles. Part-time vegetarians and people in all stages of veggie transition as well as convinced vegetarians or vegans are most welcome to join.

The picture ID is intended to aid in establishing an identity and tickle the fancy as well. It can be of assistance in everyday life or when travelling, when you want to find like-minded people or order the right meal in the restaurant.

During a trip to Japan, Bernd Drosihn, a guy with all sorts of rebellious nonsense between his ears, had the idea for the VeggieNation because he badly wanted a picture ID with simple, universally comprehensible symbols as a survival aid for ordering in takeaways, restaurants or supermarkets. Japan means for veggies above all "Lost in Tofu Translation". Besides that, the narrow national egoisms severely got on his nerves. He used this note, saying more or less, "Attention, this guy is a pretty strange vegetarian, probably an alien, don’t give him any meat, fish or cow’s milk".
